With saddened hearts we would like to inform you that Mike Adams' mother, Joann Cortelyou, passed away on Wednesday, May 20th, at the age of 77. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 PM with a service at 6:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Pastor David Hamstra officiating. Please be praying for Mike and Linda, and their extended family during this time of grieving. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles... 2 Cor. 1:3-4a
With heavy hearts we would like to inform you that Don Neeley's mother, Sharon Griffiths, passed away on Wednesday, May 15th, at the age of 74 after a 12 year battle with cancer. Please be praying for Don, Lorri, Jamie, Jessica, Jonathan, and their extended family during this time of grieving. There will a a viewing at White Funeral Home on Sunday, May 19th, from 1-3pm. Zimbabwe Missions Trip Call-Out Meeting! There is a Zimbabwe Mission's Trip tentatively schedule from May 31st-June 9th, 2019. If you are interested in going or would like more info...there will be a "call-out" meeting with Dan Hubbard this Sunday, Feb 24th right after service in the elementary room. The meeting will last only about 20 minutes. Please be praying and asking the Lord what role He has for you in this outreach/service opportunity!
Christmas Eve Candle Light Service Monday, December 24th at 7:00PM Join us for our special Christmas Eve Service! It is a wonderful time to gather and remember the wonderful story of God's amazing gift of love, hope, peace and joy - the birth of Jesus Christ. The Argentina Missions Team is heading out tomorrow, November 1st at 11am. Please keep them in your prayers as they go to spread the gospel, love on our Christian brothers and sisters, and do some much needed repairs on a home for disabled children. Pray for protection and that the Word and Power of the Lord changes the lives of the people they meet!

With saddened hearts it grieves us to inform you of the passing of our dear CrossPoint family member, Brian Blink. Brian went home to be with Jesus on October 10th after a long battle with cancer. As he breathed his last breath we have hope in a Risen Savior who has given us victory over death (1 Cor. 15:56-57). It brings us great comfort that Brian is now resting in the presence of our Merciful Heavenly Father. Visitation will be Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at CrossPoint Church. Pastor David Hamstra will be officiating. Please be praying for Brian's wife Deanna and their children, as well as, their extended family during this time of loss. Recently a friend from Zimbabwe, Tatenda Gunguwo, visited Mercy Hill Church, our sister congregation in Munster. Tatenda leads Eternal Word Ministries, a network of churches in Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Mozambique. During his visit he made us aware of the cholera crisis in Zimbabwe’s capital city of Harare. Cholera is a severe and often fatal disease that is spread through human waste and contaminated drinking water. At this time, the municipal water supply in the capital city is part of the contamination, and thousands and thousands of people are sick. As David shared with us on Sunday, we can do something about this by drilling a well at Tatenda’s church property that can provide clean drinking water for the surrounding community in the Kuwadzana neighborhood of Harare. We are sharing the cost with Mercy Hill Church. Tatenda’s network of churches is also contributing from within Zimbabwe. We expect the total cost to be about $8,000, and the Zimbabwean believers have already raised $300 cash and $700 in pledges. Now it is our turn: the need is urgent, and we can help stop the spread of cholera in this part of the city by acting promptly. As news broke of Jill Douglas’ passing early this morning our elders have been reflecting on the impact of her life. John Leitzel’s thoughts summed it up perfectly, "Jill’s story has been a story of victory—not in occasional spectacular ministry/faith events (though her trip to India was certainly a highlight), but rather of victory in the everyday battles of faith. Jill had victory in the daily battle for joy, in the daily battle against bitterness & unforgiveness, in the daily battle for courage instead of fear, in the daily battle to consider others more important than ourselves, and so forth. Hers is the testimony of innumerable daily victories and now she’s entered into rest. We’re going to miss her so much, but I’m so thankful that now even in death she has the final victory: “He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.” (John 11:25-26)" Please continue to pray for Jill's precious family during this time of loss. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 12 at 6:30pm at CrossPoint with a visitation to follow with light refreshments.
